The Doctrine of the Watch Tower Society
According to the WTS: Should Jesus Christ be worshipped?
The Scriptures reveal that Jesus the Christ was worshipped and that he also did not rebuke the worship that he received. God reveals in an abundant number of passages that only God is to be worshipped. Has the Watchtower ever taught that the Son of God is to be worshipped? And if they have, have they changed their mind?
“His position is contrasted with men and angels, as he is Lord of both, having ‘all power in heaven and earth’. Hence it is said, ‘let all of the angels of God worship him’ [that must include Michael, the chief angel, hence Michael is not the Son of God] and the reason is, because he has ‘by inheritance obtained a more excellent name then they’.” The Watchtower Reprints, November 11, 1879, p. 48. C.T. Russel (Bracketed comment in the original)
“To worship Christ in any form cannot be wrong” The Watch Tower Reprints, May 15, 1882, p. 1410
“He was the object of unreproved worship even when a babe, by the wise men who came to see the new-born king…He never reproved any for acts of worship offered to Himself…Had Christ not been more than man the same reason would have prevented Him from receiving worship.” The Watchtower Reprints, 1, October 1880, p. 144.
“Question…Was he really worshipped, or is the translation faulty? Answer. Yes, we believe our Lord while on earth was really worshipped, and properly so…It was proper for our Lord to receive worship…” The Watchtower Reprints, 111, July 15, 1898, p. 2337.
“As the special messenger of the Covenant, whom the Father had sanctified and sent into the world to redeem the world, and whom the Father honored in every manner, testifying, ‘This is my beloved son, in whom I am well pleased’ – it was eminently proper that all who beheld his glory, as the glory of an Only Begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth, should reverence him, hear him, obey him, and worship him – do him homage – as the representative of the Father.” Atone-ment Between God And Man, 1899; 1915 edition, p. 134.
“The purposes of this Society are: …public Christian worship of Almighty God and Jesus Christ; to arrange for and hold local and world-wide assemblies for such worship…” Charter of the Watchtower Society of Pennsylvania, Article II, February 27, 1945 [the 1969 Yearbook quotes Article II of the Charter as well, however, it eliminates “…and Jesus Christ”
“Since Jehovah God now reigns as King by means of his capital organization Zion, then whosoever would worship him must also bow down to Jehovah’s Chief One in that organization, namely Christ Jesus, his co-regent on the throne of The Theocracy.” The Watch Tower, Oct 15, 1945
“No distinct worship is to be rendered to Jesus Christ, now glorified in heaven.” The Watch Tower, Jan 1, 1954, p. 31
“Do not erroneously conclude that Christians are to worship Christ. That is not what the Bible taught” The Watch Tower, July 15, 1959, p. 421
“…it is unscriptural for worshippers of the living and true God to render worship to the Son of God, Jesus Christ” The Watch Tower, November 1, 1964, p. 671.
Watchtower Biblical Sources and Hebrews 1:6
“But when He again brings his first-born into the inhabited earth, he says” ‘And let all God’s angels worship him’ Hebrews 1:6.” (New World Translation, 1950, 1961, 1970 editions, [The NWT revised 1971 edition was changed to read, “do obeisance to” rather than “worship”])

“And when again he shall introduce the FIRSTBORN into the HABITABLE, he says, “And let All God’s Angels worship “him.” Hebrews 1:6, The Emphatic Diaglott, 1942, Interlinear Translation of The Vatican Manuscript (No. 1209 in the Vatican Library) Benjamin Wilson, Published by: International Bible Students Association – Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.

From the section ‘Thou Shalt worship the Lord thy God’ of “The Record God gave of His Son” it is conclusive that Christ had received worship throughout the Scriptures and that he did not rebuke being worshipped as noted in Matthew 14:33; 28:9, Luke 24:52. The Lord Jesus says in Matthew 4:10, “…Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.” On the same note, Exodus 34:14 states, “For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:”
How can an organization that claims to be the prophet of God for today be so inconsistent with who is to be worshipped? There is no excuse for this corruption of the word of God and we will expose this satanic tactic so that the church of God is aware. To prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that the WT has tampered with the Scriptures we will further examine the word “worship” and ‘obeisance’ by first acquiring a thorough understanding of both terms and how God applies both within the context of Scripture.
In the Authorized Version (KJV) the word ‘obeisance” occurs nine times in the Old Testament (Genesis 37:7,9; 43:28; Exodus 18:7, 2 Samuel 1:2; 14:4; 15:5; 1 Kings 1:16; 2 Chronicles 24:17) The Hebrew root word for worship and obeisance is ‘shachah’ and in these Old Testament passages where it translates as obeisance it is to give homage, humbly beseech, or reverence. For example, in Exodus 18:7 Moses meets his father-in-law and upon meeting him he “did obeisance and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare, and went into the tent.” Moses, by all means would not worship his wife’s father, but he would honor him for who he was and the position that he held in Moses’ family. Almighty God, however, speaks of ‘shachah’ as having a self-emptying fear, brokenness and totally humbling spirit in our worship and adoration of the great God of the universe. The second book of Kings states;
34 Unto this day they do after the former manners: they fear not the LORD, neither do they after their statutes, or after their ordinances, or after the law and commandment which the LORD commanded the children of Jacob, whom he named Israel;35 With whom the LORD had made a covenant, and charged them, saying, Ye shall not fear other gods, nor bow yourselves to them, nor serve them, nor sacrifice to them:36 But the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt with great power and a stretched out arm, him shall ye fear, and him shall ye worship, and to him shall ye do sacrifice.37 And the statutes, and the ordinances, and the law, and the commandment, which he wrote for you, ye shall observe to do for evermore; and ye shall not fear other gods.38 And the covenant that I have made with you ye shall not forget; neither shall ye fear other gods.39 But the LORD your God ye shall fear; and he shall deliver you out of the hand of all your enemies.
2 Kings 17:34-39
New Testament worship
In the Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures (1985), the same Greek root word for worship ‘prosekuvhsan’ is used of the Son in Matthew 2:11; 28:9, 17 and of YHWH God in Revelation 11:16; 19:14 yet it is translated into the English word ‘obeisance’ of the Son of God in every single passage. However, the same Greek root word ‘prosekuvhsan’ is translated into the English word ‘worship’ for God, the Father. Why is that? Hebrews 1:6 in the KIT states “And let all God’s angels do obeisance to him.”
The Emphatic Diaglott (1864,1942) pulls back the sheets a little more. In Matthew 2:11; 28:9,17 of the ED the word ‘prosekunhsan’ is translated as ‘homage’ (Matthew 2:11) and ‘prostrated’ (Matthew 28:9,17). However, it is translated as ‘worshipped’ when used of the Father in Revelation 11:16. Again, why is that? Now concerning the Son of God, Hebrews 1:6 in the Emphatic Diaglott reads “And let All God’s Angels worship “him.”
How can this be? How can two Greek interlinear translations published by the same publisher (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) use the same Greek word in the same verse and come up with two different renderings? Here is something else to ponder. The Kingdom Interlinear Translation and the New World Translation (1984) produced it’s English text from the Greek text of Westcott and Hort, which is the same text that over 100 biblical Scholars used to produce the New International Version (NIV) with. Most perplexing is this, in the NIV every place where prosekunhsan is written of the Son of God, it is translated as ‘obeisance’ in WT published books, while in the NIV, in every case, ‘worship’ is used, concerning the Son of God.
Hebrews 1:6 in, The Interlinear NIV – Parallel New Testament In Greek and English (1976) reads in the English, “And again, when God brings his firstborn into the world, he says, “Let all God’s angels worship him.” The Greek word for worship here is ‘proskuvhsatwsav’.
Hebrews 1:6 in The Interlinear KJV - Parallel New Testament in Greek and English translates the English to read this way; “And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.” Greek word for worship here is ‘proskuvhsatwsav’. (Same as NIV)
Hebrews 1:6 in the ‘Holy Bible – From The Ancient Eastern Text – George M. Lamsa’s Translation From The Aramaic Of The Peshitta’ reads this way; “And again, when he brought the firstbegotten into the world, he said, Let all of the angels of God worship him.”
In ‘Studies in the Scriptures - Series II – The Time is at Hand (1889), Charles T. Russel, the founder of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society writes in his own words on page 112, “And they came and held him by the feet and worshiped him.” On page 117, the late Russel wrote, “”…so Matthew says “they worshiped him – but some doubted.”” Throughout this book WT founder Charles Taze Russel time and time again goes back to the original Greek word. If Russel had any notion that Jesus was not really worshipped or that ‘prosekunhsav’ implied something other then ‘worship’ for the Son of God, he certainly would have used a word like ‘homage’, ‘prostrate’, or even ‘obeisance’ to define it clearly so that there would be no confusion.
God gives us absolute clarification of worship
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exodus 20:3-5
10 Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve. Mattew 4:10
7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word.9 And as they went to tell his disciples, behold, Jesus met them, saying, All hail. And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him.10 Then said Jesus unto them, Be not afraid: go tell my brethren that they go into Galilee, and there shall they see me. Matthew 28:7-10
5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. Hebrews 1:5-6
21 Art thou called being a servant? care not for it: but if thou mayest be made free, use it rather.22 For he that is called in the Lord, being a servant, is the Lord's freeman: likewise also he that is called, being free, is Christ's servant. 23 Ye are bought with a price; be not ye the servants of men. 1 Corinthians 7:21-23
5 Servants, be obedient to them that are your masters according to the flesh, with fear and trembling, in singleness of your heart, as unto Christ; 6 Not with eyeservice, as menpleasers; but as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart; 7 With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men: Ephesians 6:5-7
1 Paul and Timotheus, the servants of Jesus Christ, to all the saints in Christ Jesus which are at Philippi, with the bishops and deacons: Philippians 1:1
24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ. Colossians 3:24
On a side note, The Watchtower Society quotes the historian Justin Martyr (100 – 163 A.D.) in The Bible – God’s Word or Man’s? (1989), in the following passage;
p. 62 “Justin Martyr, writing in the middle of the second century, wrote in reference to the death of Jesus: “That these things did happen, you can ascertain from the acts of Pontius Pilate.” In addition, according to Justin Martyr, these same records mentioned Jesus’ miracles, regarding which he says: “That He did those things, you can learn from the Acts of Pontius Pilate.” True, these “Acts,” or official records, no longer exist. But they evidently did exist in the second century, and Justin Martyr confidently challenged his readers to check them to verify the truth of what he said.”
Since the WT Society uses the works of Justin Martyr as ‘credible evidence’, I too, will use the writings of Justin Martyr to also clarify an important point concerning the practice of worship of the early Christians. This is an excerpt from Justin Martyr’s First Apology. Chapter XIII Cf. LXI;
“Our teacher of these things is Jesus Christ, who also was born for this purpose, and was crucified under Pontius Pilate, procurator of Judea, in the times of Tiberius Caesar; and that we reasonably worship Him, having learned that He is the Son of the true God Himself…”
The ‘Invisible’ Return of Jesus: 1874, 1914, 1915, or 1975?
According to the following quotations from Watchtower lore the return of Jesus already happened (1914), albeit invisible. There are many WT dates on which we can expose, but for the sake of the fact that I type about 9 words a minute we will go into detail about 1874 and 1914. This is a major doctrine taught be ‘God’s visible organization’ on earth so God’s organization better not fumble this one.
Conclusive Evidence of a False Prophet
21 And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the LORD hath not spoken?22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him. Deuteronomy 18:21-22
16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD. Jeremiah 23:16
1 And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,2 Son of man, prophesy against the prophets of Israel that prophesy, and say thou unto them that prophesy out of their own hearts, Hear ye the word of the LORD;3 Thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe unto the foolish prophets, that follow their own spirit, and have seen nothing! Ezekiel 13:1-3
25 There is a conspiracy of her prophets in the midst thereof, like a roaring lion ravening the prey; they have devoured souls; they have taken the treasure and precious things; they have made her many widows in the midst thereof.26 Her priests have violated my law, and have profaned mine holy things: they have put no difference between the holy and profane, neither have they shewed difference between the unclean and the clean, and have hid their eyes from my sabbaths, and I am profaned among them.27 Her princes in the midst thereof are like wolves ravening the prey, to shed blood, and to destroy souls, to get dishonest gain.28 And her prophets have daubed them with untempered morter, seeing vanity, and divining lies unto them, saying, Thus saith the Lord GOD, when the LORD hath not spoken. Ezekiel 22:25-28
5 Thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that make my people err, that bite with their teeth, and cry, Peace; and he that putteth not into their mouths, they even prepare war against him.6 Therefore night shall be unto you, that ye shall not have a vision; and it shall be dark unto you, that ye shall not divine; and the sun shall go down over the prophets, and the day shall be dark over them.7 Then shall the seers be ashamed, and the diviners confounded: yea, they shall all cover their lips; for there is no answer of God.
Micah 3:5-7
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. Matthew 7:15
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many. Matthew 24:11
19 For in those days shall be affliction, such as was not from the beginning of the creation which God created unto this time, neither shall be.20 And except that the Lord had shortened those days, no flesh should be saved: but for the elect's sake, whom he hath chosen, he hath shortened the days.21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:22 For false Christs and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things. Mark 13:19-23
These are very strong words from the mouth of our God. Clear, we can see that God reveals his bitter anger against those who speak lies in his name. In Deuteronomy 18:22, the Lord reveals that we are not to be afraid of anyone who speaks something that does not come to pass. The Lord Jesus states in Matthew 7:15 to be aware of false prophets which come to us in sheep’s clothing but inwardly that they are ravening wolves. Considering that we are called ‘sheep’ and the Lord is the Shepherd, the Lord is not saying that we, as a body of believers in Jesus are not going to be deceived by those trying to turn the world to Satanism, Witchcraft, or any other practice or religion that is diametrically opposed to the absolute authority word of God, but that we are going to be swayed by different gospels and false teachings by those claiming to be in the body of Christ. This is the deception, it is those ‘sheep’ that are not truly in the flock of Christ but are wolves for Satan masquerading as sheep to lead people into the pit of hell.
There are millions and millions of these ravenous wolves promulgating a false gospel and we as sheep who are in the flock of Christ had stop acting and hearing and start doing, teaching and fighting the good fight of faith with the sword of the Spirit because this sword is devastating to false doctrine. God does not give us a mild suggestion about using the word of God, he commands it and we must use the word of God to discern doctrine, it is absolutely imperative.
Christ unveils the manner of His coming
21 And then if any man shall say to you, Lo, here is Christ; or, lo, he is there; believe him not:22 For false Christ’s and false prophets shall rise, and shall shew signs and wonders, to seduce, if it were possible, even the elect.23 But take ye heed: behold, I have foretold you all things.24 But in those days, after that tribulation, the sun shall be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light,25 And the stars of heaven shall fall, and the powers that are in heaven shall be shaken.26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.28 Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When her branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is near:29 So ye in like manner, when ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.30 Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.31 Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away.32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.33 Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is.34 For the Son of man is as a man taking a far journey, who left his house, and gave authority to his servants, and to every man his work, and commanded the porter to watch.35 Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning:36 Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.37 And what I say unto you I say unto all, Watch. Mark 13:21-37
16 For we have not followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesses of his majesty. 2 Peter 1:16
Watchtower Society Contradictions on the ‘invisible return’ of Christ Doctrine
“So does Jehovah have a prophet to help them, to warn them of dangers and to declare things to come? These questions can be answered in the affirmative. Who is this prophet? …This “prophet” was not one man, but was a body of men and women. It was the small group of footstep followers of Jesus Christ, known at that time as International Bible Students. Today they are known as Jehovah’s Christian Witnesses…Of course, it is easy to say that this group acts as a “prophet” of God. It is another thing to prove it.”
The Watchtower, April 1, 1972
Did the Watchtower Society ever predict a time for the ‘Battle of Armageddon’?
The following quotations have all been taken from WT sources and reveal startling contradictions concerning a major Watchtower doctrine. This Watchtower Society doctrine teaches that Christ returned ‘invisibly’ to ‘kingdom power’. There are other periphery issues involved with this teaching but the main focus here is the date that Armageddon was ‘dated’ and the date that our Lord was supposed to have returned.

p. 235 “Twelve hundred sixty years from 539 A.D. brings us to 1799, another proof that 1799 definitely marks the beginning of “the time of the end”. This also shows that it is from the date 539 A.D. that the other prophetic days of Daniel must be counted.”
p. 235 “Applying the same rule, then, of a day for a year, 1335 days after 539 A.D. brings us to 1874 A.D., at which time, according to Biblical chronology, the Lord’s second presence is due.”
p. 236 “There are two important dates here that we must not confuse, but clearly differentiate, namely, the beginning of “the time of the end” and of the “presence of the Lord”. “The time of the end” embraces a period from 1799 A.D., as above indicated, to the complete overthrow of Satan’s empire and the establishment of the kingdom of the Messiah. The time of the Lord’s presence dates from 1874, as above stated.”

Manifesting dates of the ‘end times’ through vast chronological dating is fruitless because anyone could create a system of dates for their own private interpretation and anyone could tell you that Christ came back on this day or that day but the word of God says in Matthew 24:26-27 “Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not. For as lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.” When the Lord comes back, the sun itself will seem like a flickering candle compared to the brightness of his coming and great and terrible will that day be.
The fact is that 1915 did not see the end of the world and since one second past January 1916 there should not have been one single God fearing individual following the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society. Sadly, there are six million Watchtower Society members around the world today. Pray for them.
Our Lord said that only a wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign:
1 The Pharisees also with the Sadducees came, and tempting desired him that he would shew them a sign from heaven.2 He answered and said unto them, When it is evening, ye say, It will be fair weather: for the sky is red.3 And in the morning, It will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?4 A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh after a sign; and there shall no sign be given unto it, but the sign of the prophet Jonas. And he left them, and departed. Matthew 16:1-4
Has the Watchtower Society ever Stated that they Received
Messages from Angels?
As always we will first shed light on the issue and ask, what does God think of this? Is this of God or not of God? Is there a need for those who claim Christ to ask angels what to do and teach? The word of God says in Hebrews 1:1,2; “God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;” In the past, God controlled and guided his people by the mouth of prophets but in these latter days, God has spoken to us directly through his Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. 1 Timothy 3:15-17 states “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” We find just from these two passages alone that not only does God give us all the answers for doctrinal issues but also that word of God is able to make us wise unto salvation through our faith in Jesus the Christ. Apparently, God does not think we need the Watchtower Society to be saved. What better teacher do we have then Christ who through the Holy Spirit will teach us all things (John 14:26, I Corinthians 2:13).
9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.
Revelation 12:9
1 Now the Spirit speaketh expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;2 Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron; 1 Timothy 4:1-2
14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.15 Therefore it is no great thing if his ministers also be transformed as the ministers of righteousness; whose end shall be according to their works. 2 Corinthians 11:14-15
6 I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:7 Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.8 But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.9 As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.10 For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ. Galatians 1:6-12
13 But evil men and seducers shall wax worse and worse, deceiving, and being deceived.
14 But continue thou in the things which thou hast learned and hast been assured of, knowing of whom thou hast learned them;15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:13-17
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world. 1 John 4:1-3
1 God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; Hebrews 1:1-3
13 Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. John 16:13
The Watch Tower Society and its Communication into the Spirit Realm
The Watchtower, February 15, 1936. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 52 “Is the Watchtower a means or channel employed by God to transmit information to his people? …he could and would transmit information to his people…No man can properly interpret prophecy, and the Lord sends his angels to transmit correct information to his people,”
Preparation, 1933. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 28 “This question is propounded for the benefit of those faithful ones of the remnant now on earth, and the angel of the Lord brings to them the needed information in answer to their questions. (Rev 1:1) This is proof that the interpretation of prophecy does not proceed from man, but that the Lord Jesus, the chief one in Jehovah’s organization, sends the necessary information to his people by and through his holy angels.”
p. 36-37 “Certain duties and kingdom interests have been committed by the Lord to his angels, which include the transmission of information to God’s anointed people on earth for their aid and comfort. Even though we cannot understand how the angels transmit this information, we know that they do it; and the Scriptures and the facts show that it is done. (Matt. 25:31; Jude 14,15; Zech. 14:5)”
p. 64 “Again Zechariah talked with the angel of the Lord, which shows that the remnant are instructed by angels of the Lord. The remnant do not hear audible sounds, because such is not necessary. Jehovah has provided his own good way to convey thoughts to the minds of his anointed ones. To all on the outside of the organization of Jehovah his is a secret organization.”
Zions Watch Tower, July, 1879. Charles Taze Russel. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 8-9 “A truth presented by Satan himself is just as true as a truth stated by God…Accept truth wherever you find it, no matter what it contradicts.”
The Lord Jesus Christ said of Satan:
42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.45 And because I tell you the truth, ye believe me not. John 8:42-45
Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life, 1995. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 112 “Jehovah sent good spirits, or righteous angels, to communicate with some humans before the bible was completed. Since its completion, God’s word has provided the guidance humans need to serve Jehovah acceptably. (2 Timothy 3:16,17; Hebrews 1:1,2), He does not bypass his holy word by giving messages to mediums. All such present-day messages from the spirit world come from wicked spirits.”

(Psalms 119:105) But Jehovah God has also provided his visible organization, his “faithful and discreet slave,” made up of spirit anointed ones, to help Christians in all nations to understand and apply properly the Bible in their lives. Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we do.”
The Watchtower, September 15, 1910. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 298 “…people cannot see the Divine Plan in studying the Bible by itself…if he then lays them [Scriptural Studies] aside and ignores them and goes to the bible alone, though he has understood the Bible for ten years, our experience shows that within two years he goes into darkness. On the other hand, if he had merely read the Scripture Studies with their references, and not read a page of the bible, as such, he would be in the light at the end of the two years, because he would have the light of the Scriptures.”
Under Oath
In 1943, The President of the Watch Tower Society, Nathan H. Knorr and Vice President, Frederick W. Franz, gave the following testimony in a court of law while under oath. This is an excerpt of the cross-examination of Fredrick W. Franz in the case of Olin Moyle v. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, 1943 Sections #2596-2597, p. 866.
Q. At any rate, Jehovah God is now the editor of the paper [The Watch Tower], is that right?
A. He is today the editor of the paper.
Q. How long has He been editor of the paper?
A. Since its inception he has been guiding it.
Cross Examination of Nathan H. Knorr in the case of Olin Moyle v. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, 1943, Section #4421, p. 1474.
Q. In fact, it [The Watchtower] is set forth directly as God’s Word, isn’t it?
A. Yes, as His word.
Q. Without any qualifications whatsoever?
A. That is right.
Right out of the mouth of the President and Vice President. When an organization sets themselves up as God’s mouthpiece, they had better produce the fruit of God and not the thistles of man and the Devil. We, as a Christian body must examine and test every doctrine against the word of God because without the sword of the Spirit we would be tossed to and fro with every manner of doctrine that is perpetuated from the heart of man and the pit of hell. The more and more dependent one becomes on man and the doctrines of men the less dependent and trusting one becomes on the word of God. The bible does not speak of ‘undershepherds’, however, the word of God speaks of the Holy Spirit of God, who teaches us ‘all things.’ The Lord Jesus said, “man shalt not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” (Luke 4:4)
20 To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them. Isaiah 8:20
5 Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.6 Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar. Proverbs 30:5-6
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 1 Thessalonians 5:21
15 And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works. 2 Timothy 3:15-17
1 I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom;2 Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.5 But watch thou in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, make full proof of thy ministry. 2 Timothy 4:1-5
It is by the word of God that we make ‘full proof.’ Thank you Lord God almighty for your beautiful and mighty word which is a like a hammer that is able to break rock into pieces and cannot and will not be broken, not ever. (Jeremiah 23:29; John 10:35) To all who read this, let it be clearly known that the word of God is the first and final authority in all matters of life and doctrine and if me or anyone else should speak contrary to the law and testimony of the word of God then we are in error or we have lied and thus need to be sharply rebuked and corrected by the word of God. Let nobody tell you what the word of God says without proving it and testing the spirits. (1 Thess 5:21; 1 John 4:1)
The Cross of Christ
Another conception within the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Societies’ long history of contradictions is the general attitude toward the cross of Christ. According to Watch Tower theology, all those who confess the ‘trinity’ or the biblical term “Godhead” as the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit (three distinct personages of the one true God) are completely lost and are guilty of worshipping the cross of Christ, or practicing a Pagan form of idolatry. Later on, we will discover the malicious misrepresentation of the doctrine of the Godhead that is spewed out of the mouth of the Watchtower Society.
The Watch Tower’s current teaching is that Christ was ‘impaled’ on a torture stake (stake) and that the cross is a Pagan symbol that was not used as the method of execution of the Lord Jesus. Here are a few of the contradictions that are found in Watch Tower publications concerning their teaching of the cross. One might want to ask a member of the WT Society, ‘If the cross is a pagan symbol then why was the founder of the WTB &TS using it as a symbol on his ‘Studies in the Scriptures’ series? Why are there pictures of Christ on a cross in WT publications? And why is the cross of Christ specifically mentioned, if in fact Christ was crucified on a stake?
The Watchtower Society favorably cites the Jewish historian Flavius Josephus (37 – 100 A.D.) in; ‘The Bible – God’s Word or Man’s’, 1989, WTB &TS, p. 60-61; ‘Is The Bible Really The Word Of God’, 1969, WTB &TS, p.63, 118,119; ‘Mankind’s Search For God, 1990, WTB & TS, p. 66, 67, 213. On page 66-67 of the latter we read “in the face of historical evidence” Flavius Josephus quoted as saying the following:
““42. This same historian also testified to the historical existence of Jesus Christ, when he wrote that there arose “a certain Jesus, a wizard of a man, if indeed he may be called a man…whom his disciples call a son of God.” He continued by saying that “Pilate had sentenced him…And even now the race of those who are called ‘Messianists’ after him is not extinct.”” (Footnote at bottom of page reads “According to the traditional text of Josephus,”)
However, The New Complete Works Of Josephus, William Whiston & Commentary by Paul L. Maier, 1999, Kregel Publications, p. 590, offers the complete rendering in which the Watchtower Society failed to note. Here is what Josephus actually said in his eighteenth book of his Antiquities:
“3. (63) Now there was about this time Jesus, a wise man, if it be lawful to call him a man; for he was a doer of wonderful works, a teacher of such men as receive the truth with pleasure. He drew over to him both many of the Jews and many of the Gentiles. He was [the] Christ. (64) And when Pilate, at the suggestion of the principal men among us, had condemned him to the cross, 2 those that loved him at the first did not forsake him; for he appeared to them alive again the third day, 3 as the divine prophets had foretold these and ten thousand other wonderful things concerning him. And the tribe of Christians, so named from him, are not extinct at this day.” (Footnote 2, A.D. 33, April 3; footnote 3, April 5)
It should also be noted that the Watchtower Society cites the first century historian Josephus’ ‘The Jewish Antiquities’ in Reasoning from the Scriptures, 1985, 1989, p. 209 (WTB&TS).
In Studies in the Scriptures, Series II, The Time is at Hand, 1924, Charles Taze Russel writes on page 52 that Josephus’ chronological dates “are now generally recognized as reckless and faulty. We rely on the bible alone, believing God is his own interpreter.”
The following is a list of Watchtower publications and its view of the method of crucifixion. By no means is this section pivotal to the framework of the case that is being built against the authority and claims of the Watchtower Society, however, it will serve as another glaring beacon into further inconsistencies within its own publications. The method in which our Lord was crucified should never be a focus in which we, as a Christian body need to invest our hearts, but the preaching of what was done on it should. As Paul says;
17 For Christ sent me not to baptize, but to preach the gospel: not with wisdom of words, lest the cross of Christ should be made of none effect.18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.

p. 90 “The shape of the [two-beamed cross] had its origin in ancient Chaldea, and was used as the symbol of the god Tammuz”
From a picture of Christ on the cross to the cross being a symbol of the god Tammuz the Watchtower Society, who claims to be the ‘prophet of God’ (WT, 1/15/1959, p. 40-41; WT, 4/1/1972, p. 197; Awake, 6/8/1986, p. 9) we have more contradictions. If the WT Society contradicts itself regarding the mechanism of crucifixion then why would they even think that they should be an authority on the one who was crucified? As the alleged prophet of God the WT does not have the luxury to be wrong about anything that it predicts or calls truth because God’s prophets are never wrong, not ever.

p. 121 “Because it was the Lord’s due time to restore these truths he used Charles T. Russel to write and publish books known as Studies in the Scriptures by which the great fundamental truths of the divine plan are clarified.”
Please search your hearts; does this sound like a prophet of God or a false prophet for the god of this world? God told mankind to prove all things in 1 Thessalonians 5:21. God does not move Paul to say, you can, if you want, prove all things, he commands those who are his or those who are seeking truth to trust in the Scriptures and live by them. (Matthew 4:4) I pray to God that this reaches the hearts of the deceived through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Is it ok for a member of the Watchtower Society to celebrate Christmas?
“Actually, December 25 was set aside by the Romans as a birthday of their sun God. Centuries after Jesus was on earth, apostate Christians adopted this date for the celebration of Christ’s birth. Consequently, true Christians do not celebrate Christmas or any other holiday based on false religious beliefs.” Knowledge That Leads to Everlasting Life, 1995 edition, p. 126.
“It might interest you to know that we are already offering the books for ‘Christmas gifts’.”
The Watchtower Reprints, November 15, 1907, p. 4094
“Even though Christmas day is not the real anniversary of our Lord’s birth, but more properly the annunciation day or the date of his human begetting (Luke 1:28), nevertheless, since the celebration of our Lord’s birth is not a matter of divine appointment or injunction, but merely a tribute of respect to him, it is not necessary for us to quibble particularly about the date. We may as well join with the civilized world in celebrating the grand event on the day which the majority celebrate – ‘Christmas day’.” The Watchtower, December 1, 1904, p. 364

“Students of the Scriptures also know that the birth of the babe Jesus did not take place in December; yet because of the general belief upon this point by most people, it seems to be an appropriate time to speak of the truth concerning his birth and the purpose thereof. The Scriptural testimony, supported by extraneous facts, shows that the birth of Jesus occurred approximately Oct. 1st. The event is so important that it is always appropriate to call it to the minds of the people, regardless of the date.” The Watchtower, December 15, 1926, p. 371
5 One man esteemeth one day above another: another esteemeth every day alike. Let every man be fully persuaded in his own mind.6 He that regardeth the day, regardeth it unto the Lord; and he that regardeth not the day, to the Lord he doth not regard it. He that eateth, eateth to the Lord, for he giveth God thanks; and he that eateth not, to the Lord he eateth not, and giveth God thanks. Romans 14:5-6

Beth Sarim
Beth-Sarim was a mansion that was built by the Watch Tower Society with the sole purpose of housing the Old Testament saints in or around the immediate time of the year 1925, 1929, or 1930. (One of the three) This was a bold prophecy from the mouth of the second president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, Judge Joseph Rutherford. In the book Millions Now Living Will Never Die, Rutherford said regarding the return of the patriarchs to earth, “we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old,”
Salvation, 1939. Joseph F. Rutherford, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 311 “At San Diego, California, there is a small piece of land, on which, in the year 1925 there was built a house, which is called and known as Beth-Sarim. The Hebrew words Beth Sarim mean ‘House of the Princes’; and the purpose of acquiring that property and building the house was that there might be some tangible proof that there are those on earth today who fully believe God and Christ Jesus and His kingdom, and who believe that the faithful men of old will soon be resurrected by the Lord, be back on earth, and take charge of the visible affairs of earth.”
In his book, Millions Now Living Will Never Die, Joseph F. Rutherford writes, “the great jubilee cycle is due to begin in 1925. At that time the earthly phase of the kingdom shall be recognized. The Apostle Paul in the eleventh chapter of Hebrews names a long list of faithful men who died before the crucifixion of the Lord and before beginning of the selection of the church…They are to be resurrected as perfect men and constitute the princes or rulers of the earth, according to his promise…Therefore we may confidently expect that 1925 will mark the return of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob and the faithful prophets of old, particularly those named by the Apostle in Hebrews chapter eleven, to the conditions of human perfection.”
The New World, 1942. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 104 “In this expectation the house at San Diego, California, which house has been much publicized with malicious intent by the religious enemy, was built, in 1930, and named Beth-Sarim’, meaning ‘House of the Princes’. It is now held in trust for the occupancy of those princes on their return.”
The Sun Diego Sun article March 15, 1930 further comments on Beth-Sarim in the following words;
“But how will you identify King David or any of the representatives from God?’ Rutherford was asked. ‘I thought all that out before I wrote the deed,’ the judge replied with a twinkle in his gray eyes. ‘I realized the possibility of some old codger turning up bright and early some morning declaring he was David. The men whom I have designated to test the identity of these men are officers of my societies and have consecrated themselves to the Lord, they will divinely authorized to know imposters from the real princes.’”
On the same note, another excerpt from The Sun Diego Sun dated January 9, 1931, reads:
“This was revealed today by Judge James Rutherford, temporary owner of the luxuriantly furnished Spanish type mansion at 440 Brauburn Rd in the exclusive Kensington Heights district. In one of the oddest deeds ever recorded, Rutherford, president of the International Bible Students Association and the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, has placed in trust the magnificent estate for ancient kings and prophets of Israel the slayer of Goliath and his companions may occupy the 10 room modern home with it’s landscaped gardens and patio as soon as their credentials are approved by Rutherford and officials of his societies, divinely authorized to recognize them.”
The Golden Age, March 1930, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, reveals about the deed;
p. 405 “Both the grantor and the grantee are fully persuaded from the bible testimony which is the word of Jehovah God and from extraneous evidence that God’s Kingdom is now in the course of establishment and that it will result beneficially for the peoples of earth; that the governing power and authority will be invisible to men but that the kingdom of God will have visible representatives on the earth who will have charge of the affairs of the nations under supervision of the invisible ruler, Christ. That among those who will be thus the faithful representatives and visible governors of the world will be David, who was once King over Israel; and Gideon, and Barak, and Samson, and Jepthai, and Joseph, formerly ruler of Egypt, and Samuel the prophet and other faithful men named with approval in the Bible at Hebrews 11th. Chapter.”
“Any persons appearing to take possession of said premises shall first prove and identify themselves to the proper officers of said Society as the person or persons described in Hebrews chapter eleven and in this deed.”
In his interview with Time Magazine, March 31, 1930, Joseph F. Rutherford, the Watchtower President, at that time, said of ‘Beth Sarim’, “I have purposely landscaped the place with palm and olive trees so that these princes of the universe will feel at home.”
22 When a prophet speaketh in the name of the LORD, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the LORD hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Deuteronomy 18:22
16 Thus saith the LORD of hosts, Hearken not unto the words of the prophets that prophesy unto you: they make you vain: they speak a vision of their own heart, and not out of the mouth of the LORD.17 They say still unto them that despise me, The LORD hath said, Ye shall have peace; and they say unto every one that walketh after the imagination of his own heart, No evil shall come upon you.18 For who hath stood in the counsel of the LORD, and hath perceived and heard his word? who hath marked his word, and heard it?
Jeremiah 23:16-18
This is what the word of God says, after reading the absolute and final authority of God’s word against the writings and prophecies of the Watch Tower Society one is forced to come to a conclusion on who they are serving. God’s word brings to light all that is done in darkness and it is by God’s word that we have the confidence to test the spirits, prove all things, and to earnestly contend for the faith that was once delivered unto the saints. Pray for the members of the Watch Tower Society, who will read this with a heart seeking truth. By doing so, the Watch Tower member will be faced with the most important decision they have ever had to make and that is leaving the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society.
We, as a Christian body, had better be ready to have an answer of the hope that is in us because most certainly the despair of one having the blinders suddenly ripped of by the grace of God through Christ about a lie they thought was the truth really must be a crushing blow. God wants us all to be saved and there are about six million Jehovah’s Witnesses in the world today that represent a mission field of enormous potential.
The Fall of Jerusalem according to the
Watchtower, 606 B.C. or 607 B.C.?
Here we have another case of date setting. In yet another contradiction within Watch Tower theology we find a glaring problem with the date in which the Watch Tower Society has set for the destruction of Jerusalem. All the archeological sources I found on this segment of this chapter concur with 587 - 586 B.C. as the date of the destruction of Jerusalem. However, the date of 587 B.C. would only compute to a span of 2501 years, a span that would contradict, of course, the dates of the chronological framework of the ‘divine plan’ laid out in Watch Tower literature from the late 1800’s.

p. 252 “By applying this divine rule the 2,520 days mean 2,520 years. Therefore, since God’s typical kingdom with its capital at Jerusalem ceased to exist in the autumn of 607 B.C., then, by counting the appointed times from that date, the 2,520 years extend to the autumn of A.D. 1914.”
Studies In the Scriptures - Series II, The Time is at Hand, 1889. Watch Tower Bible & Tract Society, Brooklyn, N.Y., U.S.A. Written in 1889 by Pastor Russel.
p. 79 “The Bible evidence is clear and strong that the “Times of the Gentiles” is a period of 2,520 years, from the year B.C. 606 to and including A.D. 1914…The date for the beginning of the Gentile Times is therefore, definitely marked as at the time of the removal of the crown of God’s typical kingdom, from Zedekiah, their last king.”
The date of 1914 is based on the fall of Jerusalem in 607 B.C. during the reign of King Nebeuchadnezzar’s kingship.

9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and yet hast thou not known me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; and how sayest thou then, Shew us the Father?10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. 10 There shall not be found among you any one that maketh his son or his daughter to pass through the fire, or that useth divination, or an observer of times, or an enchanter, or a witch,11 Or a charmer, or a consulter with familiar spirits, or a wizard, or a necromancer.12 For all that do these things are an abomination unto the LORD: and because of these abominations the LORD thy God doth drive them out from before thee.

For years the Watchtower Society cited a man named Johannes Greber and his rendition of the Greek Scriptures called ’ The New Testament (1937) in support of their “a god” rendering of John 1:1. John 1:1 of The New World Translation (1984) published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society reads, “In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.” To support this passage and others, Greber lends support in the following WT publications;

The Watchtower, April 1, 1983.
p. 31 “This translation was used occasionally in support of renderings of Matthew 27:52, 53 and John 1:1, as given in the New World Translation and other authoritative Bible versions. But as indicated in a foreword to the 1980 edition of The New Testament by Johannes Greber, this translator relied on “God’s Spirit World” to clarify for him how he should translate difficult passages. It is stated: “His wife, a medium of God’s Spirit world was often instrumental in conveying the correct answers from God’s Messengers to Pastor Greber.” The Watchtower has deemed it improper to make use of a translation that has such close rapport with spiritism. (Deuteronomy 18:10-12) The scholarship that forms the basis for the rendering of the above-cited texts in the New World Translation is sound and for this reason does not depend at all on Greber’s translation for authority. Nothing is lost, therefore, by ceasing to use his New Testament. “
Furthermore, Greber said in his book Communication With the Spirit World (1932) that the ‘spirits’ in which he consulted told him that the teachings of the New Testament have been ‘tampered with’ (p. 19); Jesus was created (p. 267); and that Christ and Lucifer are spirit brothers (p. 271).
1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.2 Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God:3 And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world.4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. 1 John 4:1-4
Johannes Greber is used by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society as an authority for at least 27 years from 1956 and then rebuked as a ‘spiritist in 1983 while his New Testament already had revealed that he experienced communications with spirits in the spirit realm from Greber’s book Communication With the Spirit World which was published in the year 1932.
Greber also writes in the introduction of his own bible version, The New Testament (1937):
“I myself was a Catholic priest, and until I was forty-eight years old had never as much believed in the possibility of communicating with the world of God’s spirits. The day came, however, when I involuntarily took my first step toward such communication and experienced things that shake me to the depths of my soul…”
Interesting isn’t it? This supposed New Testament authority was exposed in 1983 as a ‘Spiritist’ but didn’t the Watch Tower Society already know in 1956 that Greber consulted ‘spirits? The Watch Tower Bible and Tract society knew in 1956 that the former Catholic priest had claimed to have had ‘God’s spirits’ help him translate the New Testament. For decades, Watch Tower Society members actually believed that a credible bible translator had given credence to the ‘a god’ rendering through the above mentioned citations when all along it was a lie from the heart of Satan. The fact of the matter is that no other ‘credible’ authority would have translated John 1:1 as anything other than ‘the Word was God’ and they knew it. [Part 6 of The Investigation will include a list of over 100 different bible versions from a time period of over 400 years that will also validate “The Word was God “ (John 1:1) as consistent with the context of the Holy Scriptures and the proper translation from the original New Testament language of Koine Greek.]
Oh by the way…The Watchtower Society also uses another ‘spirit medium’ to support their 1:1 translation. John S. Thompson and his New Testament rendition called ‘The Monotessaron; or, the Gospel History, According to the Four Evangelists – by John S. Thompson, Baltimore (1829) is cited in the Watchtower’s own’ The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek Scriptures (1985) on page 1139. Thompson translated John 1:1 as, “and the logos was a god.” In The Monotessaron (1829) Thompson shows that his direction and inspiration came from the spirit world.
10 Ye are my witnesses, saith the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.11 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me there is no saviour. Isaiah 43:10-11
6 Thus saith the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God. Isaiah 44:6
8 Fear ye not, neither be afraid: have not I told thee from that time, and have declared it? ye are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside me? yea, there is no God; I know not any. Isaiah 44:8
Necromancy and the Watch Tower
Necromancy is the practice that involves ‘divination’ through alleged communication from the dead. This is strongly condemned in the word of God.

This suggests that resurrected ones of the 24-elder group may be involved in the communicating of divine truths today.”
The 24 Elders ‘may be involved in communicating divine truths today’? Not only are the previous quotes from the Watch Tower Society contradictory but also they clearly present a blatant disregard for the authority of the Holy Scriptures and God’s command not to consort with such spirits. God says that necromancy is an abomination and yet the Watch Tower Society reveals that they themselves believe that ‘spirits’ guide them.
These are some iron clad doctrinal changes which implicate the WTS as an institution of deceit. Through over one hundred years of research into WT doctrine we can assimilate that the word of God is not the guiding light behind the WTB&TS but in reality the fallen angle who is often transformed into an angel of light is the one behind the deception.

In the Authorized Version (KJV) the word ‘obeisance” occurs nine times in the Old Testament (Genesis 37:7,9; 43:28; Exodus 18:7, 2 Samuel 1:2; 14:4; 15:5; 1 Kings 1:16; 2 Chronicles 24:17) The Hebrew root word for worship and obeisance is ‘shachah’ and in these Old Testament passages where it translates as obeisance it is to give homage, humbly beseech, or reverence. For example, in Exodus 18:7 Moses meets his father-in-law and upon meeting him he “did obeisance and kissed him; and they asked each other of their welfare, and went into the tent.” Moses, by all means would not worship his wife’s father, but he would honor him for who he was and the position that he held in Moses’ family. Almighty God, however, speaks of ‘shachah’ as having a self-emptying fear, brokenness and totally humbling spirit in our worship and adoration of the great God of the universe. The second book of Kings states;
3 Thou shalt have no other gods before me.4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Exodus 20:3-5
On a side note, The Watchtower Society quotes the historian Justin Martyr (100 – 163 A.D.) in The Bible – God’s Word or Man’s? (1989), in the following passage;
Since the WT Society uses the works of Justin Martyr as ‘credible evidence’, I too, will use the writings of Justin Martyr to also clarify an important point concerning the practice of worship of the early Christians. This is an excerpt from Justin Martyr’s First Apology. Chapter XIII Cf. LXI;

The time of the Lord’s presence dates from 1874, as above stated.”
p. 239 “These physical facts can not be disputed and are sufficient to convince any reasonable mind that we have been in “the time of the end” since 1799.
p. 239 “From 1874 is the time of the Lord’s presence, as above stated.”

p. 99 “In view of this strong Bible evidence concerning the Times of the Gentiles, we consider it an established truth that the final end of the kingdoms of this world, and the full establishment of the Kingdom of God, will be accomplished near the end of A.D. 1915.”
p. 101 “Be not surprised, then, when in subsequent chapters we present proofs that the setting up of the Kingdom of God is already begun, that it is pointed out in prophecy as due to begin the exercise of power in A.D. 1878, and that the “battle of the great day of God Almighty” (Rev. 16:14.), which will end in A.D. 1915, which the complete overthrow of earth’s present rulership, is already commenced. The gathering of the armies is plainly visible from the standpoint of God’s Word.”
p. 140-141 “But not until the great day of trouble is about closing – not until the Gentile kingdoms are ground to powder and utterly removed, no place being found for them (A.D. 1915, as shown in the preceding chapter).

What further evidence do we need? Using this same measuring line…it is an easy matter to locate 1925, probably in the fall, for the beginning of the anti typical jubilee. The Watchtower Society taught up until 1943 that the ‘second presence’ of Christ was in 1873 or 1874, while after 1943 the Society changed its mind to the date of 1914. (God’s Kingdom of a Thousand Years has Approached, 1973, WTB&TS, p. 206, 209 and Prophecy, 1929, WTB&TS, p. 65,66) By the ink of their own pen has the Watchtower Society exposed and condemned themselves as false prophets.
John 16:13

To all on the outside of the organization of Jehovah his is a secret organization.”

Unless we are in touch with this channel of communication that God is using, we will not progress along the road to life, no matter how much Bible reading we do.”

The following is a list of Watchtower publications and its view of the method of crucifixion. By no means is this section pivotal to the framework of the case that is being built against the authority and claims of the Watchtower Society, however, it will serve as another glaring beacon into further inconsistencies within its own publications. The method in which our Lord was crucified should never be a focus in which we, as a Christian body need to invest our hearts, but the preaching of what was done on it should. As Paul says;

14 I know, and am persuaded by the Lord Jesus, that there is nothing unclean of itself: but to him that esteemeth any thing to be unclean, to him it is unclean. Romans 14:14

The Sun Diego Sun article March 15, 1930 further comments on Beth-Sarim in the following words;
The Golden Age, March 1930, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, reveals about the deed;
Let God Be True, 1946. Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, Inc. International Bible Students Association. Brooklyn, New York, U.S.A.

Johannes Greber – Spiritual Authority or Spiritualist?
31 Regard not them that have familiar spirits, neither seek after wizards, to be defiled by them: I am the LORD your God. Leviticus 19:31
Deuteronomy 18:10-12
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death. Revelation 21:8
For years the Watchtower Society cited a man named Johannes Greber and his rendition of the Greek Scriptures called ’ The New Testament (1937) in support of their “a god” rendering of John 1:1. John 1:1 of The New World Translation (1984) published by the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society reads, “In [the] beginning the Word was, and the Word was with God, and the Word was a god.” To support this passage and others, Greber lends support in the following WT publications;
The Watchtower, February 15, 1956.
p. 111 “Very plainly the spirits in which ex-priest Greber believes helped him in his translation.”
The Word – Who Is He? According to John, 1962.

p. 489 ““Modern translations and Greek grammar make meaning [John 1:1] clear…”In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God; and the Word was a god.” – The New Testament – A New Translation and Explanation Based on the Oldest Manuscripts (a translation from German into English; 1937), by Johannes Greber.””

The Watchtower, April 15, 1976.
p. 231 [Johannes Greber sited for support]

Thy Kingdom Come, 1891; 1915 Edition. WTB&TS
p. 303 “While the glorified members of the Kingdom beyond the veil are doing a work in shaping the current of present events and preparing for the glorious reign, those on this side of the veil have also an important work.”
The Finished Mystery, 1917. WTB&TS
p. 144, 256 “This verse (Revelation 8:3) shows that, though Pastor Russel has passed beyond the veil, he is still managing every feature of the harvest work…We hold that he supervises, by the Lord’s arrangement, the work yet to be done.”
[‘Pastor’ Charles Taze Russel is the first president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society. He created the WT Society in 1881. Russel lived from 1852 – 1916.]
Watch Tower Reprints, November 1, 1917.
p. 6161 “Hence our dear Pastor, now in glory, is without doubt, manifesting a keen interest in the harvest work, and is permitted by the Lord to exercise some strong influence thereupon.”
[Pastor Russel is still directing the Watch Tower Society even when he is dead.]
Jehovah, 1934. WTB&TS
p. 191 “No one in the temple company would be so foolish as to conclude that some brother (or brethren) at one time amongst them, and who has died and gone to heaven, is now instructing the saints on earth and directing them as to their work.”
[Pastor Russel is not directing the Watch Tower Society after his death.]
Revelation – Its Grand Climax, 1988. Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society
p. 125 “It is fitting, then, that one of the 24 elders, representing anointed ones already in heaven, should stir John’s thinking by raising a pertinent question…(Revelation 7:13, 14a) Yes, that elder could locate the answer and give it to John.
